I have a washer and dryer that are free for pick up. The washer I got for free from another ODT’er and the dryer I got free from my parents. Both have issues(which I will get to) and my wife is over us getting hand me downs so a new set is what I broke down and got. Now onto the good and the bad.
Washer:
I got the washer used from another ODT’er and off the bat I fixed the pump since it was leaking water, which is one of the reasons I’m sure the other guy got rid of it. No worries, got it fixed. The lid had already been bypassed so it runs with the lid open. The agitation part works fine on small loads but with large loads it doesn’t seem to agitate. Lastly, it sometimes cuts off during spin cycle.
Dryer: I got the dryer from my folks maybe 2 years ago. It still powers on but won’t do actually spin when you hit the “start” button. It heated great before that.

I went through everything I could think of that could be wrong with these so there is no confusion. Free to anyone who needs them or just wants to recycle them. If no one wants them I’ll junk them myself.

To make it easy during this social distancing phase I can leave them in the driveway for easy pick up once someone has claimed them.

Both should be easy fixes for whoever picks them up. There's a little plastic sprocket in the top of the agitator that strips out after a while. It's about a 15 dollar part. The dryer is probably the belt but could be the motor

I was told they should be fairly easy fixes. Wife won this battle though.

It's worth the new ones if you have the money. They get pretty inefficient as they get older. Especially dryers. Ours is starting to get to where thick clothes you have to run again to get them completely dry. But I can't complain it's 20 years old

Toss a new heating element in that old thang. It'll dry good as new.
