Are you referring to a Form 1 suppressor that you design yourself?

Why do the baffles need any relief? And I’d think the heat would really de-temper the spring. Never heard of this method

I think you would only need a spring with a Nielsen device/booster with a tilting pistol barrel.

Was thinking of using a engine valve spring, should also relieve pressure on the baffles by allowing some compression.

I could be wrong. Just thinking out side the box.

Don't think you need it on a fixed barrel. but in for info.

Fixed barrels should not have any thing to do with it. I talking about the other end. Regarding the pressure in the suppressor when fired.
Just thinking if there is a spring at the end every thing could compress and and possibly cause less stress to the stainless baffles
