Fished for 37 minutes this morning over by my local pond. 2 cats and a bass.
Bought some new SA Air Cel WF-5F yellow fly line...So sweet...
Glad I found this thread. Just picked up fly fishing about 6 months ago.
I've caught a bunch of panfish and small bass on my 5wt.
Only 2 trout on my 8wt so far. Hoping in the next few months to snag some reds in southeast GA. Now that the weather is warming up.

Bought some cabelas waders , $79 on sale . Sent them back . Literally opened them and started a return. Crappy wading belt. Crappy fit . Adios .
Been replacing my fly lines with new USA made lines , SA air cel and Rio Trout lines . Really has been a good investment . Saves me from buying more fly rods lol.
For real! I was seriously considering laying out another big chunk of cash for a better 8wt until I replaced the line.
To give you an idea about how old my previous lines were, I was quite surprised to find out that I shouldn't do any treatments to the new lines to keep them in good shape. Just rinse them with clean water.
Yes I do the same once per year . Sometimes more depending on how dirty the line looks .
Yeah, I used to spend a lot of time cleaning and treating the line. Now they are telling me that will actually damage the line and is completely unnecessary.
