Fishing/camping

Any places that are good for kayak fishing/car camping that’s not on a river or large reservoir? I’ve done some research but prefer first hand knowledge. Really looking for somewhere that has easy access for kayaks, decent camp sites, within 100miles of Atlanta. Looked up James h Floyd in Summerville, seems nice but never been, but that’s kinda what I’m looking for.

Ever try the etowah river? I don’t know much about camping it but I know it’s got some good fishing.

I don’t know if salt water is your thing, but Jekyll island has all of the above with easy access and plenty of amenities.

Check out rocky mountain pfa it's a little closer than sloppy Floyd for you plus the fishing is a little bit better there's 2 lakes at rocky mountain the heath lake is open the 1st 10 days of each month camping is unless it's changed was first come first serve

Love saltwater, wouldn’t think of camping down there till late fall. That’s in the books for next year!

You should come do our trout fishing trip with us we do every spring up at rock creek.

yep and the bugs out number the people 1,000,000 to 1.

I’ll second Rocky Mtn PFA…..either lake!
Throw 10” worms, A-rigs or big creature baits and you’ll have a good chance of catching a pig of a bass.

Thanks for the info, I booked a spot at James Floyd state park, my son and I will kayak fish there and drive to rocky mountian PFA as well, as it’s close by. I would stay at the PFA but I believe the camping is first come, and I don’t want to make that trip not knowing if a spot is or isn’t available.
now to figure out the best way to install a transducer on my kayak!
