my buddy gave me a nice 20 gallon fish tank set up for christmas. i already have 5 neon tetras, a guppy, and a small sucker catfish thingy in there.

have 3 fake plants and a gothic castle too. any suggestions? i want to get more tetras and guppys, but for sure want either little freshwater lobsters or shrimp to run around the bottom

the little "lobster" will catch and kill your other fish.....get the freshwater shrimp. Wait a couple of months before you add the shrimp to give the tank time to balance.

The problem with tropical fish is tap water. Rainwater is just as bad. If you are going to keep tropical fish you'll need to keep a supply of non chlorinated fresh water handy.

Add an Oscar,he will keep your tank clean.
