First knives forged

Have you burned all the hair off your arms yet? Lost your eyebrows?
You are working with stuff way hotter than I want to be around.
You have my greatest respect for taking on this skill set.
Lol, no. I have quite the beard too, been wondering when that's going to get singed. I've had some scale from the iron burn my arms. It's like a grease burn when frying bacon. No big deal. One hot piece of steel did jump into my glove, that was a shocker....

Look Damn good for your first knives.

The biggest thing about getting good bevels, is building a jig.

After a few dozen knives you will get the hang of the positioning and won't need the jig, but starting out it really helps you get a solid plunge line.

Thanks! It is very time consuming, the big knife has about 15 hours in it since I had no clue what I was doing. The mini cleaver took about 3 hours start to finish

So you're saying you watch Forged in Fire with a new found respect now? 5 hours and they're chopping shields and bones
