Firearms Inventory

Simple excel sheet for mine with basic info for insurance and my death and my family's ease. Nice list of common name actual name distinguishing characteristics any notable markings and serial numbers and arsenals since most is milsurp. Has another tab with current market value that I update roughly every 3 month so the get what they're worth and not what I told them I payed hahaha also has pictures linked on my hard drive for easier identification

I was hassled by the cops and insurance when I lost 3 in a break even having all serial numbers, about not having a picture to truly prove it being mine so from that point forward pics galore

I figure since I now have this, when "da man" decides to come and take them all, they will not label my collection as a "cache" or "arsenal" but simply as a harmless "collection!"

Just finished a two-week long, painstakingly detailed exercise to inventory all of my firearms. I have been wanting to do this for many years, and finally just decided it was time.

I'm pretty much an Excel geek, so I utilized some obscure formulas to make it sortable and searchable in just about any way I want. No, I don't know why! I just did.

Mine consists of three tabs, each linked with different formulas, functions and pivot tables to the master database. Even though it's still a work in process, it's still quite functional. I've got all the details on each firearm including the unique details of grips, triggers, etc., along with all the basic stuff like purchase price and location.

I figure since I now have this, when "da man" decides to come and take them all, they will not label my collection as a "cache" or "arsenal" but simply as a harmless "collection!"

One can still dream...!

Anybody else ever done this same thing?

Wow- wish I had enough that needed a spreadsheet to keep track.

But where do you store this information? On a hard drive? In the cloud? Or do you print it and keep a hardy copy safe somewhere. Also do you keep pictures of everything for insurance purposes also?

Lots and lots of gun porn can be found on my computer. They'll be handling my computers and hard drives with white gloves, that's for sure.
