Precision Applications, LLC will be conducting an Extreme Close Quarters Shooting / Down & Disabled course in Powder Springs GA on Saturday, August 1, 2020.

4321 Macland Rd
Powder Springs GA

Class will start at 8am and run until approximately 5pm.

ECQS is geared towards self-defense with a handgun at very close distances, i.e., 3 yards and less. This portion of the class will combine some hand-to-hand combat techniques with shooting at double arm’s length and closer. The hand-to-hand portion is not intended to turn you into an MMA fighter, its emphasis is on getting the attacker off of you, or creating space/distance, to draw your handgun and engage.

Amongst the topics covered in the ECQS portion will be:
Combat Mindset
The aforementioned hand-to-hand techniques
Physical blocking techniques
Weapons retention techniques
Various ECQS shooting positions, including the ECQS Retention Technique, the High Ready, and “Press Contact”
Shooting will moving forward to engage, or rearward to disengage

The other portion of the class will be over Down & Disabled shooting techniques. It is not out of the realm of reason that in a deadly force situation you might end up on the ground, whether it’s on your back, front, or side. With the proper skill sets, you can turn this to your advantage and win the encounter from the ground. Just because you’re down does not mean that you are out!

Among the topics covered during the D&D portion will be:
Engaging a lethal threat with a handgun while lying on your back, front, strong side and support side, with the threat at your feet or at your head.
Fighting back to your feet, while engaging the threat.
Strong-hand and support-hand only shooting techniques, including draws and reloads

Gear list:
Handgun with holster. Both revolvers and semi-autos are welcome.
Magazine pouch/speedloader pouch, with a minimum of 2 reloads readily accessible on person
700 rounds of ammunition
Eye and ear protection
Hat with a front brim

We will spend quite a bit of the live fire time on targets that will allow you to strike, shove and shoot them, including press contact shots.

This class will be a bit more strenuous than the average pistol class, so dress accordingly. During the D&E portion, we will be spending quite a bit of time on the ground, on a gravel range. If you wish to bring something to lie on, you are welcome to within reason.

Dress appropriately for the weather, whatever it will be. Comfortable attire and shoes/boots are a must. Bring plenty of water.

The course is limited to 20 students. Course fee is $250 paid in advance. We accept checks, money orders, cash and discrete PayPal (you pay the 3.5% fees, no "gifts" please). Your spot is not guaranteed until your course fee is received.

Semper Fi!

Which carry positions do you prefer students use in this course, or which do you train for (OWB, IWB, AIWB)? I primarily carry AIWB, but I’m open to something different for the learning value of it.

I urge students to use the carry method they actually use.
