Ever been asked to see tax stamp?

Anyone ever been asked to see a stamp at the range? I got asked over the holidays at a range in OH. I went and did some research and you only are required to show your paperwork to an ATF agent.

What happens if you happen to get asked by an ATF agent and you don't have it with you? Not that I've ever seen an agent or expect to see one.

I would be worried that I would lose it if I carried it with me.

I have never been asked even when shooting post sample machine guns.

Never at a range, but I got one of my SBR's cerakoted one time and they asked to see it prior to taking possession of it. I felt like the guy was just on a power trip, but didn't argue and showed him.

Take a picture of your stamp and keep it on your phone. Keep the stamp in the safe. Blow off anyone who isnt an ATF agent.

I've never been asked but I do keep a copy in the little pocket on the gun case, just in case.

Just keep pics of your forms on your phone. E-file approved forms are sent digitally anyway, so there's no difference in presenting a printed copy vs a digital copy.
