Don't Get Crushed

Most are made in china Id be willing to bet, not just these. I have two sets of them (havent verified part numbers yet). The only place I can think of to cause a failure would be excessive clearance between the rack and the post allowing the pawl to slip. And if you dont notice that when your setting it up then you probably dont need to be under a car in the first place.

Its always a good idea to have U.S. made timbers under the car with you. 8x8 or larger work well.

My Grandpa taught me to use wooden blocks, he said concrete/cinder blocks can crack and fail. Be careful under there.

Not if you use them properly. They hold up fine for 40,000 pound double wides.

They are subject to failure from stress risers, eliminate that and they are fine.

Wooden blocks are no where near as stable as cribbing.

Every jack stand I've ever bought has had a pin that went through the pillar itself. I didn't even know these other kind with the pawls were a thing.

I'll stick with the old fashioned ones...There seems like too many ways those pawl types could slip even if they weren't Chinese junk.
