Don't Get Crushed

I try to use jacks in conjunction with jack stands but sometimes I can’t depending on positioning.
As someone mentioned always check the locks in the J/S.
I like to engage the locks, lower the vehicle on the stands to check that the locks are holding , then take a bit of the weight off the J/S by pumping the jack a little so some of the weight in on the jack.
I always chock the wheels with quality rubber wedge type chocks and set parking brake..
Was taught by old timers on the farm working on tractors to always lay cinderblocks on their side the way they would lay on a stacked foundation then use wood on top if going that route.
Yes blocks will crack if laid with holes see through on the sides.

Another good idea is to always carry a nice treated 2x8 plank in your vehicle to act as a solid base for your factory jack in case you get a flat tire and have to jack up your vehicle on soft ground.(ever have a jack sink on you)?
I go a bit overkill and carry a small pump jack in all of my vehicles cause factory jacks are usually junk.
