I had a good friend Gary die after falling out of a stand in Canton.

Ain’t nothin like climbing up to 18’. Get comfortable and ride the pines.

Very sad. And not rare. Dangerous sport without safety gear.
An absolutely horrific incident. My gosh!
Many years ago, I hunted. I went with some friends deer hunting. It was a cold early morning. I got in my stand, settled back, began to warm up and yep, fell asleep. I woke up as I fell from the tree. Luckily, I landed on ground that gently sloped to a creek. I was not injured, but I was embarrassed. I decided that day that if I could not stay awake, I dd not need to be hunting. I have not hunted since that day. I was lucky.
