Why the deadline? Get the dog and let their personality help you name them. I'll typically change a dog's name three or four times in the first month until I find one that fits. The dogs don't care and it doesn't confuse them. I'll often have a couple of nicknames I call them throughout their life in addition to their official name. "Dumbass" and "****head" seem to be popular.

I like names that are personal and purposely picked. Having said that, the only real advice I have is keep it one to two syllables. Makes it easier to call them.

We just put down a deposit for a Bernedoodle and we have two months to come up with a name. I can tell it’s gonna take every second of those two months or the wife and I may get a divorce lol. What’s a good name for a male dog?

Most of my dogs in the past have answered to dumbass too......small word

Friend of mine always wanted to name his dog Rouge, so when he called him in he could yell "C'mere Rouge" out the front door. He was a history nut.

My 12.5 year old Golden that passed away on Palm Sunday was named 'Xxxxxx's Boy Scout'. Just called him Scout.

I said, come here Damn it.

BW, my husband brought home a stray kitten. In 10 minutes or less, her name was Nuisance. In another 10, it was Damn Nuisance. Great kitty. Happy trails.
