Diy Pvc feeders question

I have some scrap sections of 3-inch pvc that I thought about making into several gravity feeders to mount on t-post. On the old interwebs search it looks like people are using 4 inch and up. Besides capacity is there anything I'm overlooking as to why 3 inch is a bad idea? Thanks

3 inch will work fine. Just doesn't hold very much.

3 in will work, just have to fill more often.
I have made some of each, 3&4 inch

You could put two 3 inch side by side if that's what you have.

The 1” difference in diameter equated to @ 5” square area, just make the tube longer to be able to add more volume of feed.

Yes no matter what size you use, make it as long as possible up to the point of needing a ladder or 4 wheeler to fill it.

I use 3 inch pvc about 5 ft long with a 90 degree elbow it will hold about 25 pounds of corn.

What do you all attach it to the tree (with)?

I use stainless steel wire. Put I small block or stick at the top so you can put a lid on it.

Good info guys. Thanks. I also like the idea of placing two side by side. All my scrap is between 4-6 ft long. Looks like I need to grab some caps and 90's.
