Custom rods

Anybody ever made any of their own rods? Wanting to get into building custom rods, I fish g loomis and would like to be able to get the same quality for less than what I have invested in them. Any tips or anything of the like is appreciated!

if I got good enough I’d like to sell them also.

I have found it to be very similar to fly tying in terms of money saved, it's starts out innocent enough on the first couple and then before you know it another room is needed.

well if you go very basic you might save a few bucks, but when you see that you can build what you want
and all the nice bling you can have your in trouble. exactly why i never got into it. if the sun were to hit
my rod it would like like a light house at 3AM but in the middle of the day lol.
