I am in the middle of converting a Remington #4 rolling block from 22LR to 22 MAG, will be a great little varmint gun. The next project in line is the conversion a Stevens 1915 favorite 22LR take down to 17 mach 2, presently has the half octagon/round barrel have ordered a full octagon barrel same diameter as the receiver i have done the same with the Remington as I like the look smooth transition from receiver to barrel. Remington receiver has been machined to octagon shape so it matches the barrel.

I have a chance to pick up a Hopkins and Allen 12 Gage falling block CHEAP, Now I know if i re barrel it to a 22 hornet the barrel will be fine on pressures, my question; and I have not been able find an answer online is will the breech block and action take the back pressure?
The back pressure on the breach block from a 22 hornet should be far less than the original back pressure on the breech block from the black powder 12 Gage.

Can anyone help determine if the H&A action will take the pressures?:pop2:
