I am off tomorrow and plan to take my son and daughter fishing. I have not fished in years but my kids are showing interest so we are getting back into things. We have been fishing crickets and tearing up bream in a friends pond. My son is dying to catch a bass. I am going this afternoon to grab some crickets and a few more packs of worms. What are the basic colors? When I quit fishing I had used some zoom trick worms but mainly fished texas rigs. Any pond tips for color or anything I may e forgetting?

June Bug (dark purple) has been perhaps the most consistent worm color I have ever used, along with black. Year round they work. Pumpkin seed is also good.

Good luck to yall!

I like to match the water color. It is that time of year where nearly any should work. I like trick worms rigged weightless. Also zoom lizards are hard to beat. Also weightless or maybe a light weight. If the bass are crazy, the weight wont matter much. If y’all dont have alot of snags, try the old wacky style. Makes it a whole lot easier hooking the worm and the fish for youngsters. Make sure he has good fresh line and tie the palomar knot for strength. Now all you have to do is run the camera. Oh, and for a better chance at a giant, hookup a bream. Good luck

watermelon seed and june bug and black allways do good and if they trying have fun get some bettlespins you can catch bass and bream and everything eles good luck
