While "on tour" for Uncle Sam in the '60s I remember chopper pilots with similar shoulder holsters. Found a decent used holster on ebay with about the right patina to complete the package. Thx for all the help and advice from the ODT community.
Not to drag up a long abandoned thread. About 5 years ago I bought an old used victory with British proof marks in 38 for $125 at a gun show.
I purchased a complete 2” model 66 cylinder, and a model 10, 1-7/8” barrel off eBay for less than $100. Popped the old barrel out, used the same cylinder crane, recut the forcing cone, and set barrel gap, and retimed the gun to the new cylinder. One of my absolute favorite pistols to shoot. I carry it often. I’ve got less in it than an old ragged out model 10. And you ought to see the confused looks I get!
Even though the cylinder (WOULD) accept .357 mag ammo, I would STRONGLY advise AGAINST it. I used the .357 cylinder for the added cylinder wall thickness. These are old frames, and metallurgy was different back in them days!
