I posted a thread about these guys in Firearms Chat but figured it had a place here as well.

Long story short, Walker Razor Slims has a new snap in talkie for $40 and it's not bad.

For SHTF, these are not perfect, but they will do now. Easily

Personal experience, 500 yards in urban terrain with MANY large buildings between. Easily. Perfectly Clear

Amazon has the Razor Slims and the Walkie Talkie. It's about $75 total for both.

Looked it up on Amazon. Lots of reviews about the poor craftsmanship with the boom mike. Not sure I want to take a chance.

I would imagine these would work like tut he origional muffs where u can turn up the voulme and hear your surroundings better. With an overlay of communication on top of that

I can't speak for anyone else's experience, but the sound quality for me was the same as using a Motorola handheld unit. Better than the throat mics or bone conduction mics. It's very basic, but $40 for a cordless unit that I don't have to pouch on a belt or chest-rig is worth it.
