I was playing devil’s advocate. My point was as long as you’re not breaking the law or doing something to have a LEO question you, you might as well not have a carry license. Problem is, if you do carry without a license, and you break the law, or are suspected of breaking the law, you will be charged for not having a carry permit.

The law expressly forgives this requirement for exactly the reason you stated!
I mean you can't possibly say anything further from the truth.

Even a felon can use a firearm in those circumstances.
