You’re walking down Peachtree, any Peachtree, you have your Glock 19 on your hip, a police officer approaches, he says “Do you have a license to carry that?” You can say “It is illegal in the state of Georgia for you to ask me that question.” And continue about your business without fear of recourse. Now, the officer may have a corncob up his hiney, and may detain you unlawfully, that’s when you get an attorney, and end up with a nice fat check.

Sorry, but if you are carrying openly, a LEO cannot ask you for your carry license, so what does it matter if you have one?

that’s not completely accurate. They can ask if there is another reason. They just can’t stop you solely to ask to see the license

Georgia has a weapons license, NOT a conceal only license. You need a Weapons license for either conceal OR open carry. Not sure what I wrote that confused you.

You do not need a license to open carry a long gun.

true, but is it not also true that if you cover said weapon with an untucked shirt , then you need weapons carry license (aka ccw)?
