How long is the tang under the handle? Unscrew the screws to show a bit more detail.

In any case I think you're better off junking it and buying something like this:

If you can't do the job yourself you'll probably spend more having someone making one than the cost of buying something new.

I must have had some sentimental value Or cost an arm and a leg You are probably better off buying a new or attempting something yourself.
However if you have the original Handle It could be used as a template and avoid Quite a bit of fitting and refitting

First thing you're going to have to do is remove the screws on the plastic housing And if you're going to reuse it you're either going to have to cut it down or glue it It appears to be broken

Yeah, I handed it over to a carpenter friend to build me a handle. The screws were star pattern and weak, so they stripped easily. It has some sentimental value to me as a good buddy bought it for me when I left service. Its nothing fancy, but a custom made handle by another friend would increase the coolness factor for myself. Thanks everyone.
