Thought I'd post this jewel on ODT before I sell it. It is a C.G. Haenel Sporting rifle built on a Model 1888 action prior to 1900. Although noted for building the Commission M88 Rifle for the German Army, they also produced a limited number of hunting rifles. The actions were specially forged and were offered with a lot of options. This rifle is chambered in 8X57J(or I) and fires a .318 bullet, not the .323 that the newer 8X57S uses. The action is case hardened with a side mounted peep sight that swivels to allow the bolt to function. The barrel is a tapered octagon with express sights. Seated in a nice European walnut stock. All matching numbers including the butt plate. Oh, and double set triggers.
