My mother recently reached out to me regarding purchasing Gold and or Silver for wealth preservation. Do any of you have recommendations regarding what direction to point her in?


She is looking at purchasing physical metals.

Both of these places linked below are good reputable places to buy and not worry about buying fake Chinese junk if she is wanting to buy physical PM. If she just wants to invest without the hassle of dealing with storing and safeguarding it she could look into buying etfs with someone like tdameritrade and could link it into any other retirement accounts she may have.

For wealth preservation, it must be physical, and it must be in your custody, no bank boxes or storage entities. Anything denominated in paper is just that: paper, or rather 1's and 0's in cyberspace.

with current spot around $22 as of this morning, 9/24/2020, plus a $4-$6 or so premium, who in their right mind would retail silver at $13?
