Lmao i hear so many people say they are heading for the hills. That is the very last place im goin. Most will die tryin to get there or will be killed by the ones already living there and will take your stuff

Depends on the type of SHTF. Personally I want options so I would rather live on the farm in a long term event all by myself but for a natural disaster such as power out for a extended period I am good. If long term event I may be good but the other 5 million people in the ATL may not be as prepared. I really don't want to deal with the posse coming across the river.

I grew up essentially off the grid in the middle of nowhereville Mississippi. Little did I know how effective that training would be several decades later. Still have the farm but my challenge now is getting there if SHTF. Getting through all that Bama rift raft would be a challenge. Guess I could wear a houndstooth hat and swear allegiance to the Bear.

The best bet is to buy as much land as you can afford. If you are in a city you a probably pretty much screwed. If you are properly prepped you wont be able to carry it or haul it. I have a family of six. You have to have food for your family for quite a long time. Mostly likely you and your family wont be able to carry months worth of food plus firearms and ammo. If i had to bug out i wouldnt be able to fit my supplies in our suburban, excursion and long bed f150. Best bet is to move out to the country somewhere and hunker down and pray that the city rats Eradicate themselves before they can get to the countryside

These books may be worthy reads for some written by Max Alexander who served with a former British elite special forces unit. He runs a tactical training camp in West Virginia and he was doing some training in Texas some years ago. The books focus on a US Civil War. His books incorporate his training tactics. Why the hills? That has never made sense to me as a bug out location. Less farmable land, less natural forage, fewer wild game animals and more difficult travel. Land is a lot cheaper in the Piedmont, too.
