broken wheel stud; what do?

Replace it yourself. I once had one broken and I left it alone. Then apparently a second and third one broke off. I realized what had happened when the wheel passed me on New Bull Pen Road. Luckily no one was coming the other way, but I was unable to get to the side of the road on three tires.

Option B

Go to Auto Zone and buy a replacement stud for a couple of dollars. It'll tap right out of the hub once the caliper and rotor are out of the way. Might want to soak it first for while with Parts Blaster if it's rusted. Seat the new one. Easy peasy repair, if you know how to do a brake job.

p.s. Don't go back to the shop who broke it and didn't fix it. Signed, MF

My tire guy knows me well. He would have replaced it and listed it on the bill and I would have paid him and thanked him for taking care of it. I call him a tire guy but he is much more than that.
