My oldest girl shot this buck not long after her sister shot hers but we couldn't find it. We could see it working a doe in a meadow across the creek.. We used an old railroad track to close the distance and she took a 150 yard shot. I could tell she hit it good but it crested a hill as it ran off and we lost sight of it. After lunch and a quick nap we went back and started over. After a few hours we found it. The deer ran a huge arc for about 400 yards the opposite direction than we thought. Not a drop of blood. It was in a locust thicket behind a pond. Getting to it and dragging it out was less than desirable but every scratch, poke and rip was worth every step.
