Big Green Egg

Here's another reason why an Egg is worth it. You can't do that with a smoker or gas grill. And just like a steak, pizza is best when cooked at high temps.

I have the Kamado Joe and love it. It is really similar to the BGE but I was able to save quite a bit of money by going with KJ. The quality is on par with BGE and the customer service has been great. I really don't think you can go wrong with KJ or BGE.

As far as lighting, I use the looflighter. Also, keep in mind that some brand of charcoal will heat up quicker than others. I have found that Royal Oak heats quicker and burns hotter than Frontier lump. The Frontier lump seems to burn longer on slow cooks though.
