Best crossbow in price class?

Looking to purchase my first crossbow (in the $250-450 range). I think I did my homework but would welcome any comments/suggestions.

Here's the ones I looked at: Barnett recruit, Barnett brotherhood, quad 400, wildcat CS, raptor, jackal, Excalibur axiom, and the wicked ridge warrior. After researching and handling (and looking for the best deal), my top choice is the Barrett brotherhood (Amazon for $362).

Have I made the right choice? Just a little unsure since this is my first one.

As much as I hate to say it, stop into cabelas every so often.. They've had some of the $1000 crossbows in there marked down as low as $450 on Clarence or S&D (display model with the bolts missing or the like) a couple times I've been in there. I haven't compared with other prices online because it doesn't interest me that much (I prefer traditional archery if I'm going to spend the coin) but thought it worth noting
