Wait until January or February and buy a nice used example when they come off pawn for $400 to $500 each. Then if it doesn’t shoot have a custom barrel put on it. That way you have a $1000 shooter or save $600.
On the .270 the pre 64” Winchester model 70’s are tough to beat. IMO the .300 win mag is a little to much for areas in GA. I would venture to say most all kill shots made in GA are inside 100yds.
