Back When I Should Have Bought!

Had a wife and 2 young children and bought my first house in '89.....all these years later, I have guns and a house that are worth much more than I paid gor them........inflation being what it has been, I'm probably breaking even......

Adjusted for inflation, $140 for that Chinese SKS is almost $300 today, which isn't too far off from the asking price for some I've seen here.

It's important when looking at these old ads and gawking at what things used to cost in yesteryear dollars what that equivalent is today.

People recalling that they used to be able to get gasoline for 30 cents a gallon in 1960 (I was still a few decades away from existence then, so no recollection here) should remember that the same amount today is about $3.50. I found gas in Lawrenceville for $1.25 this weekend.
