Anyone have experience suing Georgia Power in small claims court?

The damage is within 15 feet of the road, as you'd expect. They made a bloody Holy mess of the dig. For now I trust GPC to fix it or at least make it look better. As mentioned before, they are regulated and just can't go 'round willy nilly tearing the shyte out of people's property. It's not like they are the government.
You know I love you man but I wish you luck getting that squared away. You will need it.

Part of it mine (little over an acre) and the rest a home owner's association (that don't even realize they own it). County breached the dam to drain it to get to sewer lines. Long story I won't recount so my blood pressure doesn't go up. Anyway, the pond would have died eventually anyway due to silt build up but they certainly reduced the value of my home at the time.
That really sucks. I hate seeing ponds destroyed.

Yeah, just checked into that. The sub is supposed to start work on Sat repairing the damage. I'll give them another chance to clean it up. Anything is better than how the first contractor left it. I told the GA Power rep (who handles the sub contractors) that I won't let it go and will seek redress if this isn't resolved in a timely manner.

I bet the sumbeeches wouldn't take two weeks to get it fixed if it was their damned front yard.

I'll see how it goes into next week and if it's not resolved, I'll make a case with the County Commissioner and the PSC for relief.
I have never in my whole life herd someone complain as much as you do ,then have the audacity not to post pictures. You need to get points or a dunce hat for this rant.Poor soulds probly made it look like the rest of macongo and thought it was good to go.Just sayin.

LOL, well now that you mention it....

I could just plant some weeds and allow them to overhang the curb and start growing into the asphalt of the roadway, get some chicken bones and boxes and drink cups from the side of the road and Kroger's parking lot and a few liquor bottles and scatter those around the shoulder and the gutter and my yard would definitely "blend" with the rest of Macon.

I had the county literally destroy a multi acre backyard pond when they did some work on their sewer right of way. I pitched holy hell, had an attorney write a letter and they basically responded with "pound sand".
Palmetto's situation is different so hopefully it gets resolved.
Cement pond, by chance?

No. The job is complete. One giant hole, then overfilled. Then the nitwits laid down two small pieces of sod. Red clay and huge clumps of dead (original) Bermuda grass everywhere in my yard. Typical white trash, ex-con work crew.

Me and my homies relieved ourselves on your lawn, seeing it needed watering, it'll grow back. :)

I talked to a lady today and she kinda had the same experience but with at&t and after she dealt with them awhile, they finally just asked her how much she thought the damages were worth. They wrote her a check just to stay out of court. I imagine ga power would be willing to do the same.

Unlikely.

Georgia Power typically doesn't settle anything. Even though it's in small claims court, you will be going up against some high powered lawyer. Bottom line is its like suing the local government, doesn't really cost them anything to send a $500/hr lawyer to court.

Do you know how to prove damage to real property? That lawyer does.

You may well win, but you will spend very carefully the dollars you actually collect on the judgment.

I'm not discouraging you (too much), it will be an interesting experience, and you may eventually end up with some money for your trouble.

There usually are no tricky rules of evidence and procedure in a Small Claims Court. However, today they might be just as corrupt as the higher courts.
