My grandfather smoked a pipe. Probably explains my deep desire to puff myself...I tried but cigars took over.

Apparently it used to be a thing to compete with other pipe tokers to see how long you could get a single pack to last without going out? Here's a newspaper story from when he won a $25 prize for tying for 1st in a competition in 1970...

Well done. I smoke a pipe and the occasional cigar. I like English blends and sometimes an aromatic. Balkan blends and Navy Flake are pretty good too.

Look up Mutton Chop Piper on YouTube. Some videos are slow moving, but he’s a funny guy with some good advice for new pipe smokers

Some Studies have shown that pipe smokers actually live longer than non smokers in general. But I think it’s the type B personality and being laid back enough to smoke a pipe. YMMV

Keep the pipe clean, and you only need etoh to do so. Ever clear / pure grain alcohol is fine, some use rum.

Make sure you are relaxing when you smoke, and most of the time pipe smoke is for the taste and the smoke doesn’t go into your lungs. You breathe in through your nose and the Venturi effect will draw some pipe flavor into your mouth. Then exhale. The goal is to relax and not suck a lot of smoke into your lungs.
