Picked up this M1008 up a few weeks back. Pretty solid straight truck overall seems to be have been well maintained but does need a few things. Looking to find someone local who is knowledgeable about these, I'm in the Commerce area.

Solid trucks with HD axles.
Should be equipped with beefy 14 Bolt rear and Dana 60 front.
Is that one Diesel or was it converted to gas? Hopefully someone converted it to 12 volt at some point.
Any reputable shop in your area should be able to work on it as they're simple old school trucks.

I know I drove enough of them to know that the early diesels sucked, converted 350
then they got awsome. I also know that if the RAP antenna is on and you touch it, you will pee yourself and fall back
6.2's were not converted gasser's, that's a myth. The earlier 350s were derived from an Olds, shared similarities but still weren't just a conversation.

Nice looking truck - they are heavy duty haulers!

I still notice them and sometimes think about getting another. I had an '85 M1009 and kept it for a while. It was fun to drive, since it was essentially the same as a regular Blazer. Just OD green with a 6.2V8 and a 24v system.

As you said... The 6.2/6.5 shares nothing with the converted gas engines - made by Detroit Diesel I think. Plus the 6.2s were used in the Hummvee trucks.
