Just started seeing cowbirds lately and have ordered a new pellet rifle.

I have about 75ish gourds up for purple martins. We had 36ish birds in when I counted them last Saturday.

Had an unusual (for me) visitor yesterday at the feeder. A Rose Breasted Grosbeak. I checked the book and the last time I had one visit was 4/29/99.

We had one at a feeder a few weeks ago, think he was just passing through.
Had a female crash into a sunroom window and die, but that was years ago.

I have some gourds out but nothing has moved into them. Is there a trick to getting them to find them? I'm thinking that they aren't high enough off of the ground. I have them about 6' up.

we apparently have an owl that has moved in close to us somewhere. He is louder than hell and goes on for hours at night.

My paw-in-law's were a good 20ft up, and always had Martins.
