Am I the only one who...

It's OK, they use stunt guns. They have to keep them fresh for closeups. But the stunt gun probably looks like it went through a thrasher it's been dropped and kicked so many times.

That makes the best sense. I've watched some of the old Starsky and Hutch episodes where Hutch is throwing/sliding his Colt Python on some hard surface...Back then that was @ a $400 gun, not cheap then, but now...

Don't worry those are Hollywood guns, not real guns.
Not only are they not affected by being dropped or kicked
across rough surfaces they also have other spcl features.
Like revolvers that can fire 12-25 times w/o reloading.
1911s that fire w/o cocking the hammer. Think I read
somewhere it's mostly done with smoke & mirrors.

Yep….CRACK smoke and COCAINE mirrors !! Lol

I'm the same way when I see cool cars getting wrecked. I once saw some movie or TV show a long time ago that had a chase scene with a 1960's Jaguar E-Type. The chase ended with the Jag flipping down a cliff and I could tell from the subframe and exhaust that it was in fact a real E-Type. I hope whoever made that scene burns in classic car hell forever.
