I highly advise for everyone to have a IFAK and medical supplies in close proximity. Either in your vehicle and home or like me I keep in both.

I’m not saying that you don’t OP. But a lot of people treat first aid kits like a good luck charm. A trauma scene is not a great place to figure out how to use a kit.

Trust me I see that all the time. Lol. I had to teach some of my close friends that spent a ton of money on medical supplies and had no idea how to use it. Same goes with spending 1k on a Gucci Glock and not even being able to have accurate shots or good grouping.

Let me add to the list, pre-staging. Knowing how to use a tourniquet is one thing. Suddenly realizing you need to be able to free it from shrink wrap while you're covered in blood can be a fatal mistake. Break it out of the wrapper, open it to the largest opening in your scenario and tuck it back in the kit.
