Alternative Heat

What are you using to heat your cabin, shelter, tent, house, structure you live in?

Wood stoves? Kerosene heater? Electric heater? Propane? Solar? Geo thermal?


I am curious to hear what you off grid folks do in the winter . In the suburbs you can just flip a switch and the heat comes on, but what if it doesn’t?

Our house is all electric, but we have an emergency propane heater.

Two back up kerosene heaters, one for downstairs and one for upstairs as well as natural gas ventless logs in the fireplace and plenty of kerosene for the nights.

During the day if the power’s out the generator and patch panel also handles the furnace fan, I’m lucky to have natural gas heat and an endless supply of natural gas.

I love the idea of a wood stove but the mods to my house kinda put me off .

Might want to back that up with one of those Little Buddy propane heaters....

The wood stove will heat you right out of the house if you want, they’re amazing and liters the best thing since sliced bread in my opinion
