Affordable reliable Bug out vehicles

I have an AWD Honda CR-V,
and it got stuck on a unpaved driveway covered in Pine needles!
One front tire was spinning, one back tire was spinning,
and the other two were not getting any traction.
I was surprised and disappointed.

I’d take any 80’s-90’s 4-Runner with the 22R/RE..or same era Jeep XJ with the 4.0. Lockers in the rear. Heavy duty bumpers & skid plates under it to protect oil pan & other fragile areas

I had my 4x4 Tacoma stuck on wet grass all 4 just spining that sucked

Blame your tires. I put a set of Yokohama Geolanders on my older CRV and it would get traction even on ice.

A friend of mine in the Army bought a newer F-250 lifted with huge Nitto tires. He got stuck in wet grass. I was in a Chevy Avalanche with new BFG All-Terrains literally driving circles around him laughing.

It's all in the tires.
