Since AAC went under the price of those muzzle devices that are left out in the market has gotten really out of hand and looking around I found a few options to save money rather than hitting gun broker and buying one of the insane 300-400- or more mounts. We don't actually need AAC branded mounts.

First, there are a handful of third party folks making 51t mounts ...
meridian defense https://meridiandefensecorp.com/bd2-51t/
battlecomp https://battlecomp.com/product/bc51-0/

but also, there are a number of people like Ecco machine and fabrication that are actually
replacing the mounts on AAC cans https://www.facebook.com/ECCOmachine/

with the mount of your choice ... dead air KeyMo, Q cherry bomb, etc ....
and since the can is not going to be warranted anymore there is no reason to worry
about having it altered.

Just food for thought, there is no reason to blow enough money to send your kid to Disneyland on a single 51t mount.

I didn't know that AAC went under but I have noticed the prices of the mounts on here. I was going through my parts bin and found an extra mount I brought so I might be OK but will keep these options in mind

I don't think they have technically gone out of business but are in limbo with the Remington buy out. I'm holding out a little longer to see if they produce product again (I'm thinking they will) before I go down the road of having my can converted to something else.

Oh I see. I hope they can recover. Their older stuff was great. I have 3 of their cans, but they seem to have lost the race when it came to innovation. I do miss Mike Mers too

They are under completely/out of business and the assets and intellectual property were sold to the holding company that owns palmetto state armory.

That isn't to say that PSA couldn't bring the company back or bring back a company with the same name ... but it wouldn't be AAC and the chance that they would honor your existing warranty/etc is probably zero.
