The painted car has gone through the hands of several folks connected to Janis Joplin. Joplin had bought the car used in 1968. She owned it up until her death in 1970. After her untimely death, Joplin's manager, Albert Grossman, assumed the title. Grossman later gave the car to Joplin’s siblings, Michael and Laura Joplin. The famous car eventually ended up at auction at Sotheby’s in 2015. The car, which was expected to bring in several hundred-grand sold to an undisclosed buyer, supposedly, living in Gull Lake, Minnesota, for a whopping $1.76 million dollars.I wonder if the 356 Porsche is still around?
