Just recently bought a 84 d150 with a 318. Driving down road and her pop and engine cut off, wouldn't start back in process of starting burnt some wires. Replaced all wires and now there is no fire, no power to the coil, any suggestions on replacement..thanks

Throw a wire from + battery to + coil and see what happens

Does that have the ignition resistor on the firewall ?

It has a voltage regulator, and ballist resistor, and ignition control module all on the firewall

Id swap the ignition module on the firewall. We have an 82 with the 318 and we kept a spare module under the seat.

Your 84 should have the balast resistor on the firewall and a electronic ignition on the driverside fender....

Yes they are both right besides each other. But the wires that burnt where apart of the ignition wires

All the wires have been replaced was thinking that one of those items burnt up with the excessive voltage which cause burning.
