That's a really good price, if not to restore at least have for spare glass and panels.

Maybe a restomod with a Cummings R2.8 4 cylinder.
 
The 47 Lincoln convertible that sold on the mecum auction for $17k was nice.

they had a lot of nice cars under $20k at the recent Houston auction.
 
Hard to imagine today, but that 6 cylinder, 3 speed business coupe was msrp at $1595.00
No radio, no heater, no cigar lighter ---
But where was I going to get $1600 ?
My pay as an apprentice bricklayer was $1.25/hf

And the house and garage to store it in cost about 6K and you got a 3 year loan on the car and a 10 year loan on house and you get to take home $1.05 an hour after taxes.
