Hi, I like to collect anything gun or fishing related and come across some strange things sometimes. I came across and bought an artillery round I've never seen, and will work on loading pictures as soon as I get back home. I've done some research but most of it isn't lining up perfectly with the markings I have on this round, plus this round has been stored perfectly because it looks almost brand new but not a reproduction. Bellow I will post the markings on the bottom of the round for anyone familiar with these.

MARKINGS: PDPs 33 916 37-85

is the 33 the year for a model M1916?

any info helps, I'm really curious about this shell thanks in advance.

Well, itooks like the Hodgkiss revolving cannon of the model 1885 was the first such light canon to use this cartridge,
but the cartridge was retained when that design was upgraded to a fully automatic cannon in 1916.

The model 1916 seems to have been in use up to the beginning of World War II,
so the "33" could be the manufacture date for this round.
