Setting up the Hornady LNL AP press. The ram can’t push the case all the way into the die. I don’t know if it’s a lube issue or not. I’m pushing pretty hard, and nothing. I would have to tap it with a hammer to go any further.

1. Redding .308 full length sizing die
2. Hornady one shot
3. Tried excessive lube, less lube, and using fingers to apply lube.
4. Disassembled the die and degreased prior to first case.
5. Thought it could be the brass, but measured every dimension possible per the Hornady book. It all matches up.
6. Double checked that they actually sent the correct die set.
7. I will be picking up a different lube to try this weekend.
8. Followed the directions for die setup.
Figured I would ask here to pick the brains of more experienced reloaders. Any ideas?

I would try

1) a different die first
2) measure the brass and compare it to saami specs
3) origin of brass? That is important to know

1. I did order another die set, should arrive in the next couple days.
2. measured one of the brass, and it matches spec.
3. I am 95% sure they’re my once fired brass from my Remington 700. I do pick up the occasional brass left laying around the range.

decapping rod/expander set too low?
This made me think about the ammo I’m using. M118LR. Which I’m pretty sure they crimp the primer pockets. Which could mean the primers are hard to get out.

But then I took the decapping rod completely off. Still wouldn’t go any further.
