You can’t delete someone else’s comment even if it’s your thread.

You should be able to delete it. Look at their post in the bottom left corner should be a delete option.

For classified ads, other threads will have to go through the mods.

In classified listings you can delete other people's comments, but in discussion threads you cannot.

I learned to just not allow comments in classifieds. But in a thread where I am asking a question, there are always some BS remarks that are unrelated or just derail the thread.

yep plenty of smart ass remarks to go around, usually by the same bunch

Don’t say derail the thread, it’s like summoning the jackals. We....they will come do derailing if they see that phrase.

Not to derail, but that would be total destruction of the thread. A derailment would be more to change the topic of a thread. Say... like to the difference between a derail and a redirection.
