I like the 5 shot group so you can rule in, and out the slingers. Barrel is in the 1,500+ round range. Don’t recall last bore punch. Buddy had a saiga .223 with a red dot so those are the other sporadic shots.

Nice groups.

I use 24.5grains 748 with a Hornady 75HPBT match bullet, and a CCI MAGNUN primer in my 223. I use 27.2 grain with a Hornady 55 grain SpirePoint.

Here is some 52 and 55 gain data from Speer for the 55grain-I us a Honady, but they are seated about the same depth.

23.0grains of RL15 with the 75 HPBT in my Colt Hbar 1:7 has yielded the tightest groups. Once had a one hole 3 shot group, thought I missed until I realized it was one slightly larger hole about .308 size.

My 3 most accurate loads fired from 1 in 8, or 1 in 7 twist rate barrels, have been a Hornady 75grain match HP loaded with CCI Small Rifle Magnum primers.
#1 23.6 IMR 8208 XBR-not hand weighed.
#2 24.0 Varget—must be hand weighed.
#3 24.5 W748—used most often because it does not require hand weighing powder and is only slightly less accurate than the others.

I ran a test at the 600 yard range. My two best loads were compared with two powder charging methods: hand weighed and progressively reloaded on the Dillon 650 with no hand weighing. The 8208, progressively loaded, cartridge grouped beter than the hand weighed Varget load.

My 1/9 twist barrels have preferred a bullet weight of less than 70grains.
My most often used load in these barrels is a 62 grain bullet with 26 grains of W748, or a 55 grain with 27.2 W748. It loads up easy on the press and gives good accuracy in any AR that I have used, regardless of barrel twist or length.

I use 748 mainly because I am familiar with it, and I can usually find it. I think any of the common 223 powders will produce 1moa results with the right combination of components, but the 8208 seems to be good with about any combination of components.

I can also report, that with W748, and especially 52 grain bullets, its going to take VASTLY higher than 23-25, which is literally nothing and very low pressure almost certainly. If it was me, and I was testing 52 grain, I would be STARTING up in the 26.5 and going up near 27.5 at least. Checking as I go.
