In case anyone was wondering about cheap ammo.

I bought another AR last week off the ODT board. I also had some ammo I purchased to run and see if my original gun was particular about ammo before I bought it in mass. I decided to shoot the new rifle mainly because it has rifle feed ramps not M4 feedramps. (upper left corner of pic).

So I shoot 10 rounds of each through the rifle from an Adventureline metal mag and then 10 rounds of each from a C Products metal mag. All functioned fine with no problems. The only issue I had was that the Brown Bear had a funky smell once fired.

Here is what I shot 20 of each.
Walmart bulk ammo (I already had it in a mag and forgot so I didn't have the box)
The rest was from J&G Sales
1 x 223 Brown Bear 55gr FMJ bi-metal, 20rd boxes. (5-1486a) = $4.70
1 x 223 Brown Bear 62gr HP bi-metal, 20rd boxes. (5-1097a) = $4.70
1 x 223 Sellier&Bellot 62gr SS109 FMJ. 20 rd box (5-1601b) = $10.95
1 x 223 Silver Bear 55gr JHP bi-metal, 20rd box. (5-1763a) = $4.95 (I missed it in my ammo bag so I still have this one. Next time I'll shoot it)
1 x 223 Tulammo 55gr, FMJ, 20rd boxes. (5-1737b) = $4.99
1 x 223 WOLF 55gr FMJ, 20 rd boxes. (5-90b) = $5.99
1 x 223 WOLF 62gr HP. 20 rd box (5-1230a) = $6.59

Remember I am a casual shooter so it's not rapid fire or anything. Maybe 1 second between each shot for 10 shots. Then I reload the mag with something else.

Hope this post was at least a little helpful.

good write up. I had an ar-15 with rifle feed ramps. They work just fine. I had it converted over to m4 cuts just because I rapid fire a lot. I did rapid fire with rifle cuts and never had an issue. That funky smell you are smelling is from the powder of the brown bear. Almost sugar like aint it!
