The things that need to be made apparent when submitting an entry are:
*Unobstructed view of the fan spread out in order to determine maturity or lack therof.
*Picture of the spurs.
*Confirmation of an attached beard.
*Date of kill. (Newspaper with bird laid across it for verification)
*Positive ID of the team member with bird and newspaper held in hand with front page visible and legible.
This thread on GON is good reference for the way to submit an entry. Each week starts a new kill thread. Note the visible and legible newspaper used in all pictures.
Also note the use of the tape measure. They don’t use the end of the tape for the spurs. Start measuring the spur from one of the “inch” hash marks along the top edge of the spur.
The base of the beard is also visible to ensure proper placement of the tape measure when measuring the beard.
