Hey all!
I normally use this site for guns but I have a problem with my truck. I got this 1990 F-150 last Summer and I have been progressively fixing it, like a new rear tank, fuel pump and sender, a tune up, cleaning the top end of the engine, tires, transmission rebuild, steering, and now brake hoses.
However, ever since I got the truck I have had the problem of the ignition not shutting the truck off. The 'lock' position on the steering column does not stop the key, it goes backwards. I can pull the key out and it doesn't shut it off. Instead I have to switch to the front tank, that isn't installed right now, to starve it of fuel to shut it off. It's quite annoying and I would LOVE to fix it.
What should I be trying to fix on it, from the small amounts of info I have found from other forums I need to take the steering column apart to fix it, is this true? Or its something simple? And what parts would I need?
